International Argentine Tango Festival “Night of Milonguero - 2013" took place in Moscow

27 August, 2013

In gala concert hall "Theatrium at Serpukhovka" International Argentine Tango Festival “Night of Milonguero - 2013" has come to the end, said our correspondent.

Organized from the year 2012 this time the festival has attracted the special attention due to its super star list of maestros: the living legend of Argentine Tango Gustavo Naveira and his permanent partner Giselle Anne has become the central figure of the event. Their skills were  well complimented by young dancers - Fernando Sanchez and Ariadna Naveira, Federico Naveira and Sabrina Masso.
Spectators have kept the veterans on the stage for long, those who had begun performing in the 70-s of the last century - Nito and Elba Garcia.
At the festival Russian first night of the acclaimed show Tango Generations that has conquered the audience in the U.S. and Europe took place. The history of the dance development that has fans in all corners of the world is set against the ultra-modern video background featuring dynamic alternating images of dance halls, streets and plazas of Buenos Aires, tango performance against that background makes an absolutely fascinating impression.
Yet, not only the performances of Argentine artists have drawn some three thousand participants to the festival, "Milonguero Nights" are mostly known for a high level of master-classes as well as group and individual lessons that could be obtained from maestro.
“Submerge into the basics" was the name of the master-class by the leading pair of the festival  Gustavo Naveira and Giselle Anne. For that and other activities tangueros have gathered not only from St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk, but also from Europe - nobody was surprised to see participants from Italy, Germany, France, Canada. Tense hours of dance classes were followed by evening and night milongas in the famous tango places of Moscow, such as art-cafe "Durov", the club "Planetango", the restaurant "Teplitsa" and others.
Long after midnight, as it is customary in Buenos Aires, at those milongas shows of Argentine artists were performed. Among others , Eduardo Kappussi and Mariana Flores as well as  Rodrigo Fonti and Celeste Medina were breathtakingly starring.
